Nice tune. I like the percussion as well. Nice to hear some live instruments here on newgrounds.

Musicious responds:

Thank you very much! Live instruments are rarely here. Alas!

You play very beautifully. The recording quality was also alright.

Musicious responds:

I appreciate your comment. :)

Very nice. Perfect legato. How did you get it to sound like that?

JosephAS1 responds:

Thanks!

FL Studio 10 "Producer Edition", Kontakt 5, ProyectSam Symphobia 2, True Strike 1, Cinesamples Cinebrass CORE & PRO and AudioEase Altiverb 7 is used.

Not bad. I like the trashiness of it all. The distorted sound. Nice phat base drum. The base guitarâEUTMs also good. I think it could use some electric guitars, to give it more power.

LowBit responds:

Thanks man, will have to look at a remix maybe to get those guitars in there :)

Great sound. Reminds me a bit of Doom.

LowBit responds:

Cheers! Haha now you mention it, it is a little doom like :)

Great song man. I like how you do something different every time. That keeps it fresh. What is chiptune vsi? For now I'm only emulating chiptunes in reason, but I'm looking for ways to create genuine chiptunes. Most ways I know of, are rather a detour (like LSDJ). It takes weeks to learn how to use it, the interfaces are crappy, and it takes 5 times as long to make songs than with any other music soft/hardware. For me that really takes the fun out of it. IâEUTMd like something to create real 8-bit songs that works intuitively, if that exists.

woah, sorry for the late response coulda swore i left one, chiptune VSIs are just virtual synths like you were talking about you using in reason, I wish i could find a plugin or guitar pedal that let me get that sound from guitar, I think i seen one before but I spent a while looking for one online and couldnt find anything, would be fun to play around with, the only thing i could find were plugins that you degrade the quality of track with, but when i tried it on my guitar tracks it just sounded like garbage

Better than the original. If ocremix did an album project of Cave Story, this remix would make it on there. The end is a little sudden for my taste though, but it might work if you put the right song after it in a playlist/album. I like the guitars. Makes me wish I could play the guitar.

VaeVIKTUZ responds:

i wish i could play the guitar alot better than i can, I can play average speed solos, cant get my left hand to move as fast as i want, sucks cuz i understand the scales perfectly, think it has somethin to do with my brain damage to my right temporal lobe I got at birth. thanks for the review bro :) BTW If you ever decide to try to learn the guitar, my advice is learn the basics and then just mess around till you play somethin you like to hear

Reminds me more of a song from Doom than LoZ, because it's so electronic. I like the song anyway. Doom has also good music.

VaeVIKTUZ responds:

thanks, yeah it wasnt intended to be a remake, i just picked out some notes from lost woods and some chords from the song of healing reversed for inspiration, and started messing around with some crazy drums and synths.

I'm a musician. Check out my band Botsing. I also make music for games, animations, short films, vlogs, etc and I write scripts, record sound effects, animate and voice act.
