Good song. Sets up a nice mood. The instruments sound nice too, but they don't quite sound live. Especially the piano. I think it would've sounded better if you played the piano yourself, or if you used more different velocity levels to get better articulation. The panning of the instruments is a little strange. It sounds like they move from left to right and vice versa. I like those congas tambourine and triangle. They're a great addition to the other instruments.

DivoFST responds:

I am lost between making things too Human or not human enough, its not the first time i fail at that :/
I played the notes myself but then i changed its position to the perfect spot...maybe too perfect indeed.
About the panning i kinda like it, i really like to use a lot of panning in my songs :)
Thanks for the review SourJovis!

Really pleasant sounds. Especially the Camoshark vst :p And there are so many sounds. I can't grasp them all at once. The beginning makes me feel like underwater, but later it's more like outer space. Maybe not such a huge difference. Makes me feel like I'm floating. Or dreaming peacefully.

SkyeWint responds:

Oh man hello.

Thanks for the review! ^_^

The camoshark vst is really awesome you should totally use it sometime if you haven't already, and Omnisphere is also awesome - it did all the other melodic sounds.

Here's hoping if you thought you were dreaming peacefully, it was a good dream!

Wow. Adventurous indeed. Exactly the right sounds for the mood. And exactly the right mood to start an adventure. If I didn't have to go to bed I'd set out straight away. Maybe tomorrow.

Step responds:

It's settled then. Good luck, and thanks for reviewing!

Great song, I like the combination of the synthetic sounds and the samples of life instruments. Interesting rhythm as well. Nice "cold" sound.

Mawnz responds:

Thank you SourJovis! I had more synthetic sounds at first, but changed my mind. I guess that was a good thing ^^

Robotic toothpaste. Because even robots need to brush. The thing I like about chip step is how it combines a retro sound with something that's modern, making it a whole new thing again. Most people who like dub step now, grew up with 8-bit games, so you combine two things that are far apart in time yet appeal to the same audience.

wandschrank responds:

Yep, and apparently the kids love it too. I should start putting a "step" behind everything I do. ;D

Thanks for your review!
(And what if the Toothpaste itself is the robot..?)

Nice how the parts with the reverb and the non-reverb complement each other.

Mawnz responds:

I'm glad you liked that SourJovis! Thank you :)

I like how different it is from the original. That adds something to the value. The violin is very well played. Is that piano perchance an OldGrand sample patch from Reason?

Quarl responds:

Yep yep. I'm 100% reason.

Edit: Actually I use audacity to clip large wave files into samples. I've realized it's a great way to listen to books on audio. Sample digging. Just remember to delete as you listen or you might get lost.

Great song. I like the rhythm. Quite unusual. Also nice how the melodies are played by a succession of different instruments. Complex yet catchy.

Daydream-Anatomy responds:

Thank you:3

Clean and beautiful song. I was in the mood for this, after a day of tweaking a dirty mix, but I guess I would be always in the mood for this. Good luck with the contest.

K-Pone responds:

Thanks a lot

Cool song. I like the melodies and sounds you've used. Very mysterious, and it reminds me a lot of retro video games. Especially castle themes.

Jernemies responds:

Thanks for the time. You're implying that I succeeded in making the atmosphere :)

I'm a musician. Check out my band Botsing. I also make music for games, animations, short films, vlogs, etc and I write scripts, record sound effects, animate and voice act.
