Reminds me a lot of Chronotrigger's Schala's Theme. Not a bad thing, because I like that song, and this song is sufficiently different to still be original. I like the congas. They're nice and sharp. Good bright sounding mix. There could be some more base to it imao. It doesn't loop perfectly. I think that's easy to fix. Too bad the game won't be finished. Hopefully someone else will use it for something good. I'd love play a game that goes with this song.

Mattashi responds:

Yeah I've noticed the bad looping, I'll fix it soon.
Thanks for the review :)

Pretty good. Like I said, I don't really like clean sounds, and the drums could've been a lot dirtier to give them more character. But that's a matter of taste. I like the piano, the pads and the other synthesizers. They make the song very beautiful and interesting.

GershBeats responds:

Thank you thank you! I'll certainly experiment with the effects on the drum and see if I can improve it somewhat.

That's a cool song. Very organic. The instruments come out nicely. I don't know what a tuba would do in the desert either. Probably just a fata morgana.

wandschrank responds:

Yep, who knows.. ;D Thanks for your review!

Ha that flute! I like Paprika. Susumu's music sounds a little too artificial for my taste, but it fits the mood of this film. Paprika has some great tracks. Including this one.
Nice percussion in here. I would want to hear some more counter-melodies, to get that parade feel. The flute and the gameboy are interesting enough. Maybe some more of that kind of stuff. A mesh of instruments.
Maybe I should upload one of my Susumu Hirasawa covers as well.

wandschrank responds:

Sure, do so, I'm eager to hear it!

Like I wrote, this song was kind of.. rushed. I did not want to spend 20 hours on a melody I did not create by myself, so I just fooled around a bit. You're absolutely right with the counter-melodies.

Thanks for your review!

Just heard this song in Fall Down X. Good song. The game isn't bad either.

wandschrank responds:

Thanks! Yes, it is a fun little game. :)

Wow that loops very well. Sounds eerie. Bit of a sci-fi haunted house feel I get. Abandoned haunted spaceship maybe.

RiverK responds:

I hear a little click, but with that much going on, there's only so much you can do. Thanks for listening!

I hear a lot from final fantasy in this (especially VII). Still very original. I wish the drums sounded a bit better, but I know that's very difficult to do with 8-bit.

wandschrank responds:

Thanks for your review! I've played Final Fantasy VI - VIII during my childhood, and their music surely influenced my opinion on how a battle theme should sound like. :)

You're right, I just used white noise for the drums, I could have made better ones, but I tried to keep them as simple as possible. If I could play guitar well enough, it would be awesome to make a remix with real drums and guitars, I bet it would sound good.

Normally I'm not too fond of Dubstep, but I am of 8-bit and crazy sound fx. This song has all of that so great. Good mixing as well.

vorteX-sound responds:

Thanks for the feedback! I always try to implement a little 8-bit into each of my songs.

Great sounding song. Reminds me of a good ending to a christmas film.

samulis responds:

Hehe... that's what I was going for. :)

Made me feel very mellow. Great sounds. A little scary too, I know if that was the intention, but synthetic sounds often are.

headphoamz responds:

Aah yes! Meant to be a little mysterious ^___^

I'm a musician. Check out my band Botsing. I also make music for games, animations, short films, vlogs, etc and I write scripts, record sound effects, animate and voice act.
